Shenglian Peak Geo-Region in the upstream Dashi River is dominated by karst landform, developed in the Cambrian-Ordovician marine limestones (ca. 450 to 570 Ma ago), associated with a clear boundary between the Cambrian and Ordovician systems and other geosites. In the Mesozoic of dinosaur age, the Yanshanian orogeny created a south-north trending Baihua Peak syncline. During the Cenozoic of mammal age, along with the uplifting of the Neo-tectonic movement, a lot of karst landforms, such as karst caves, peak clusters, isolated peaks have been created in the karst basin on the south slope of Baihua Peak.
